2 Day Workshop
Thursday Morning
Overview: Experience and objectives.
Drones as Artistic Tools in Modern Art, photography and storytelling. Basic flight theory and safety guidelines. Types of drones, key features and applications (e.g. chip size, camera quality, flight time.). Exploring still photography and cinematography techniques and examples.
Thursday Afternoon
Hands-On Flight Practice Workshop
Introduction to the Mavie series or equivalent. Basic flight maneuvers:take off, landing, hovering and navigation. Demonstrating creative drone moves: rolling, dolly, tracking, circling, utilizing built-in functions; object tracking, obit mode. Overview of advanced specialty drones. Multispectral and thermal Mavic 3. Afternoon includes flying and testing out what has been learned.
Friday Morning
Advanced Night Flying and Creative Project Workshop Development.
Challenges and opportunities of night flying. Importance of spotter; understanding optical illusions at night. Brainstorming project concepts. Creating art that can only be seen from altitude. Individual and group projects using drones. Selecting best approach for your interests and needs.(Note: night flying demonstration will be scheduled).
Friday Afternoon
Post-Processing Production Techniques and Final Presentation Workshop.
Photoshop cleaning up and enhancing photos. Stitching photos for panoramas. Incorporating music and sound effects. Considering timing, transitions and pacing. Final presentation of student projects… group discussions and constructive feedback of photos, movies, documentaries or immersive visual experience.
