Eve is taken with the healing and grounding power of clay, and embraces clay work as an active meditative practice.
In this 2 day workshop, participants will create small animal sculptures using clay, drawing inspiration from animals they feel personally connected to, or that represent qualities they aspire to embody. The focus will be on the symbolic nature of animals as personal representations of inner traits, such as courage, resilience, or gentleness.
Led by Eve Wetlaufer, who in addition to being a professional potter, has dedicated her life to animal welfare and environmental justice earning an advanced degree in Animal Studies at NYU. She is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Art Therapy.
The second class will introduce students to glaze techniques suitable for their sculptures. Pieces will be fired and available for pick up by the end of the week. No prior experience is needed. Come and explore!
