Students will learn how to organize both a Classical (“organic”) and Modernist (“plastic”) palette, how to mix hues using basic color-theory practice, and how to identify and mix hues from direct observation.
Participants will consider related art history and aesthetics, from the Classical painters, to the Abstract Expressionist movement, to contemporary artists as well as both traditional and modernist techniques of image-making.
