Led by Sophie Cross, this
one week workshop will revolve around the traditional story of Stone Soup. Children will design and build masks, props, and scenery to narrate, and to illustrate this wonderful tale. The end of the week will culminate with a theatrical production of their own creation. A collaboration of Kinder and Youth artists.
Soupe au Caillou (Soup from a Stone), published by French author Madame de Noyer in 1720. The story tells of travelers who trick suspicious villagers into contributing food to a pot containing only water and a stone, resulting in a shared feast that teaches community, generosity, and collaboration.
