Coming from Texas, where everything is bigger, Mary Grazer provides a workshop that pushes clay artists to think about scale in the studio. Using slab and coil techniques, students will consider large-vessel forms and bring them to realization. This one-day workshop will provide tools and time to create large-scale work. Surface ideas will be discussed, and studio members may come back to finish and fire their big pots! Grazer’s own art practice explores clay as canvas and will include this idea in the workshop discussion. 

Students should come ready to work collaboratively and individually on work. Students will have an understanding of size, weight, and setting goals for the final product.
