ART CLASSES + WORKSHOPS

We’re looking forward to Summer 2022 in Early July with a Farm Picnic to celebrate being together again and the CPC Historic Restoration of our Seaview Farm!

DISCOVER NANTUCKET

PHOTOGRAPHY CLASS

Explore the beauty of the Nantucket landscape with your camera. Whether it is film, digital, or your phone, you will learn how to operate your camera with a greater creative control allowing for more expressive capture of the beautiful and unique landscape of Nantucket.

ART IN THE ENVIRONMENT

CREATIVITY AND DESIGN

Explore natural phenomena, including ourselves, memories, cultural rituals, myths, beliefs. Find inspiration in nature’s order, energy, design, structure, pattern, sounds, movement and space. Bring to consciousness lifelong symbols, experiences within a larger framework.

CULTURAL EXPRESSIONS

INTERDISCIPLINARY CURRICULUM

Experience the creative process for yourself and create life giving exciting, nurturing and fun, experiential learning that carries the “DNA” of understanding, universal values, and local and world community. Engage the creative process, expand educational possibilities.

WHEEL + HANDBUILDING

CLAY CLASSES

Students will explore deep into the world of clay, inspired by clay works from around the world, the natural world of NISDA’s Seaview Farm, and their own imaginations! We will introduce and explore handbuilding coil, slab and pinching and wheel throwing techniques as well as surface design and glazing.

PAINTING + DRAWING

CLASS FOR TEENS AND ADULTS

This class will introduce students to working on the 2-D surface through a wide variety of mediums. Students will investigate composition, color, texture, and mark-making, and explore materials ranging from charcoal and graphite to ink and watercolor.

KINDER ARTS

ON MEADOW ART PAVILION

Come join us on our meadow trellis and in our barn studios as we explore the natural world at Seaview Farm and cultures from around the world through joyful art making. Children will explore creativity and the artistic process through playful experimentation infused with movement, music and storytelling.

GENERATIONS TOGETHER

AGES 3–103

Enjoy the good, old-fashioned fun as we present special guest artists and projects that bring children and their loved ones (parents, grandparents, neighbors, friends, and babes in arms…) together to make art across the generations.
