SUMMER 2008 PROGRAMS NOW ONLINE! Join us as we celebrate the life that resides in and revolves around the ocean! We’ll sail around the world learning about what makes up two-thirds of our planet! Just as the Nantucket whalers, we’ll “dock” at exciting and far away harbors where we’ll explore how cultures celebrate, about the environments, arts and crafts and their lives, as well as historical and newly arriving cultures right here on Nantucket! Our Young Artist Programs… are multicultural and interdisciplinary adventures of the mind, offering opportunity for self-expression, reflection and wonder. KINDER ARTS REACH AROUND THE WORLD ARTS & CRAFTS Kinder Arts includes Generation Together with Family and Friends! (ages 5 - 7) Kinder Artists will, through arts, crafts, folklore, and nature study, discover new ways of looking at the world! Our projects using paint, clay, collage, kites, puppets, mural painting, costumes, and masks, will take us around the world. We’ll “travel“ into the arts, traditions, and cultures from Asia, Central and South America, Africa, the Islands of the Caribbean and Eastern Europe and our Nantucket. Children will explore the myths of the sea such as mermaids, selkies, and Neptune and create their own mythological creatures. Good healthy snacks always provided… please inform us of any food allergies. Also please remember to wear comfy old clothes to create in. GENERATIONS TOGETHER WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS Wednesday 10:00am - noon Celebrate creativity and the good, old-fashioned fun of making things together while creating special memories outdoors on the trellis at NISDA’s SeaView Farm! Join local and regional artists, musicians, environmentalists, and theatre folks to share hands-on arts and crafts. This summer we will combine our love for world arts and traditions with the natural landscape of Nantucket for inspiration!
